Shaunna Kelly B.A (Hon), J.D. 


Shaunna Kelly graduated from Laurentian University's Law and Justice Program in 2004.  She then went on to attend Queen's University, graduating with a  J.D. in Law in 2008.  

While at Queen's University, Ms. Kelly had the opportunity to participate in the Correctional Law Project (as it was then called, now the Prison Law Clinic), obtained her international criminal law certificate from the Bader International Study Centre at Herstmonceux Castle, U.K. and attended as a visiting student to Osgoode's Intensive Program in Aboriginal Lands, Resources and Governments. 

Call to the Bar/Practice 

Ms. Kelly was called to the bar with the Law Society of Upper Canada in 2009 and has been practising exclusively in the area of criminal defence, both as a sole practitioner and as part of a firm.  

Ms. Kelly practices in all areas of criminal defence, but tends to focus more on interpersonal and violent offences, including both domestic and non-domestic charges.  

Ms. Kelly focuses much of her practice in the area of the specialized Aboriginal Persons Gladue Court, representing Aboriginal people who have come in contact with the criminal justice system. 


Ms. Kelly is a member of the Criminal Lawyer's Association and has been the Gladue Court Representative for the Criminal Lawyer's Association since 2015.
